Sabah the Land Below the Wind

Sabah is one part of Borneo. It's called famously as Land Below The Wind. The name "Land Below the Wind" is given to Sabah because it is located below the typhoon belt, thus setting the State free from climatic disturbances. Sabah is located in East Malaysia together with Sarawak and Kalimantan, Indonesia. Sabah is second largest state in Malaysia. The uniqueness of Sabah can see from its heterogeneous population made up of some 30 groups using more than 50 indigenous languages and not less than 80 dialects. Each group having its own colourful culture, tradition, festival and customs.

Sabah is a botanical paradise with full of nature of its tropical rainforest. For those with a taste for adventure and nature will find that Sabah has everything inside. It has rainforest for jungle trekking, caves, river for rafting activity, beaches, tropical islands, and traditional lifestyles of its multiple races which living in harmony. Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Southeast Asia standing at 4,101m above sea level, is the symbol of greatness of all Sabahans. Every year more than a million tourist climb the mountain, making it one of the most accessible recreational mountain in the world. Visit Sabah is incomplete without seeing the uniqueness of Rafflesia, the largest flower in the world. Other attractions include the Sipadan Islands, famous with its scuba diving activity, the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre for the Orang Utan in Sandakan and Tunku Abdul Rahman National Parks which is located all around in Sabah.
